QUANTIFERON – TB

Description

Tuberculosis or TB, caused by the bacterium is one of the diseases with a high fatality rate if not treated timely. QuantiFERON-TB (QFT) is a simple test that helps detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB). QFT test is highly sensitive and specific, positive results strongly indicates active infection. A person should take this test if they notice symptoms like cough that lasts more than 3 weeks, chills, fever, night sweats, loss of appetite, weakness and weight loss.
