Description
Uroplakin II (UPII) is a protein marker used in immunohistochemistry (IHC) to identify urothelial carcinomas, particularly in differentiating them from other tumors. It is a component of urothelial plaques and is expressed in the cytoplasm of urothelial cells. The IHC test for UPII is valuable in determining the urothelial origin of tumors, especially when the primary site is unknown
