Description
FISH (Fluorescence in situ hybridization) for t(14;16) or IGH-MAF is a molecular cytogenetic test used to detect the translocation between chromosomes 14 and 16, specifically the fusion of the IGH and MAF genes, in patients with suspected or confirmed multiple myeloma. This translocation is considered a poor prognostic factor in multiple myeloma.
