Description
FISH for XX/XY chimerism, also known as bone marrow engraftment analysis, is a molecular test used to monitor the success of a bone marrow transplant (BMT) or hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) when the donor and recipient have a sex mismatch. This test quantifies the percentage of donor cells in the recipient’s bone marrow by identifying the presence of X and Y chromosomes.
