Description
Chromosome breakage studies are used to diagnose and study Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T), a genetic disorder characterized by cerebellar ataxia, oculocutaneous telangiectases, immunodeficiency, and increased cancer risk. These studies help identify increased chromosome instability and hypersensitivity to DNA-damaging agents, which are hallmarks of A-T.
