Ascitic fluid analysis with ADA

Description

The test evaluates ascitic fluid accumulating in the abdominal cavity to identify the cause of ascites and measure the level of adenosine deaminase (ADA) for diagnosing tuberculous peritonitis – tuberculosis that affects the lining of the abdomen (peritoneum). This test is performed for differentiating tuberculosis from other causes of ascites like liver cirrhosis or cancer.
