ANTI STREPTOLYSIN – O (ASO) detects the presence of antistreptolysin O (antibody against streptococcus) in blood. It is used in the diagnosis of streptococcal infection complications such as rheumatic fever or glomerulonephritis, a kind of kidney dysfunction.
