Pleural fluid analysis with ADA

Description

The test evaluates pleural fluid surrounding the lungs to measure the levels of adenosine deaminase (ADA) for diagnosing tuberculous pleuritis – tuberculosis affecting the pleura. Elevated ADA levels suggest tuberculosis, certain cancers and rheumatoid pleuritis and also provide information for diagnosing the cause of pleural effusion.
