Description
FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization) is a technique used to detect rearrangements of the MYC gene, specifically at the 8q24 chromosomal location, which is frequently found in Burkitt’s lymphoma. This rearrangement is a hallmark of Burkitt’s lymphoma and is often used in its diagnosis. It can also be found in other aggressive B-cell lymphomas, indicating a more aggressive clinical course.
