Description
FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization) for BCR-ABL1, also known as the Philadelphia chromosome or t(9;22) translocation, is a molecular cytogenetic test used to detect a specific genetic abnormality in certain types of leukemia. This translocation, where parts of chromosomes 9 and 22 switch places, is a hallmark of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and is also found in some cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
